The market is ever-changing nowadays. Perseverance is the top key for businessmen to follow the market trend, while there is only one fine line between perseverance and non-changing. Ms. Chong, who has decades of experience in selling clothes, has made a major change by selling soap flowers at the Yue Man Hawker Bazaar instead. She believes that all things are difficult before they are easy. Therefore, she insists on selling products that are different from the competitors and works hard every day in order to stand out from the market.
Her stall, H & H House, focuses on selling soap flowers. The entire store is filled with boxes of eye-catching and multicolored soap flowers, bringing visual impact to passersby. The products are popular especially during Mother’s Day and graduation days. Ms. Chong said the real flowers are gorgeous, yet the flowering period is too short, while the soap flowers can be store for at least 2 to 3 years. Also, soap flowers is as beautiful as the real flowers with even more sharper colors, while the main petals can be used as soap. Ms. Chong also believes that being adaptable to the market trend is the best. Hence, she has started to sell creative toys since this summer, such as cartoon camera-shaped soap bubble machines, and dried flower domes which are made by her whole family.
Although Ms. Chong is already a grandmother, she insists on lifelong learning. She said she would learn anything from online, and it is not hard to accomplish any challenges as long as she is interested in it. She also emphasized that instead of listening to empty talks, people should put theory into practice, and take responsibility for the choices that they’ve made. Her positive attitude has a great influence on her children and grandchildren. The whole family comes to help out from time to time, which brings vitality to the Bazaar.
